Ansible Role: Pulse
Install and configure Pulse - a lightweight status page. The role runs Pulse as a Docker container using host networking.
Dependencies
dockerrole (installs Docker).traefikrole (reverse proxy).
Both are executed before this role by playbook.yaml.
Variables
This role has no defaults/main.yaml. It only uses the global variable below, which must be set in the inventory
or group_vars.
| Variable | Required | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
timezone |
Yes | none | Global timezone, passed as TZ to the container |
Example
timezone: "Europe/Amsterdam"
Usage
Run the role through Semaphore using playbook.yaml. The playbook first runs
ansible-galaxy install -f -r roles/requirements.yml on localhost, then executes the docker, traefik and
pulse roles.
Operational notes
- Data is stored in
/mnt/pulse/data(mounted at/datain the container). - Container
pulseusesnetwork_mode: hostand setsCONNECTION_TIMEOUTto60; the image tag is pinned in the task. - After the container is started the role prunes unused Docker containers, images, networks and volumes.
