Ansible Role: Prowlarr
Install and configure Prowlarr - a torrent indexer manager for Usenet and torrents. The role runs the LinuxServer.io Prowlarr image as a Docker container.
Dependencies
dockerrole (installs Docker; run before this role byplaybook.yaml, fetched viaroles/requirements.yml).
Variables
This role has no defaults/main.yaml. The following variables are used by the tasks and must be set in the
inventory or group_vars.
| Variable | Required | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
prowlarr_puid |
Yes | none | User ID that owns /mnt/prowlarr and is passed as PUID |
prowlarr_guid |
Yes | none | Group ID that owns /mnt/prowlarr and is passed as PGID |
timezone |
Yes | none | Global timezone, passed as TZ to the container |
Example
prowlarr_puid: "1000"
prowlarr_guid: "1000"
timezone: "Europe/Amsterdam"
Usage
Run the role through Semaphore using playbook.yaml. The playbook first runs
ansible-galaxy install -f -r roles/requirements.yml on localhost, then executes the docker and prowlarr roles.
Operational notes
- Config is stored in
/mnt/prowlarr(mounted at/configin the container). - Container
prowlarrpublishes the web interface on port 9696/tcp; the image tag is pinned in the task. - After the container is started the role prunes unused Docker containers, images, networks and volumes.
